What is ICON White Spot Resin Infiltration?
ICON (Interproximal Caries or Infiltration Concept) white spot resin infiltration is a minimally invasive dental treatment designed to treat white spot lesions on teeth. These lesions are often caused by developmental enamel hypoplasia, demineralisation, which can result from factors such as poor oral hygiene, orthodontic treatments, or excessive fluoride exposure (fluorosis). The procedure involves infiltrating a specially formulated resin into the porous enamel of the white spots, effectively masking them and preventing further decay.
Is ICON safe?
Yes, ICON resin infiltration is considered safe. The procedure is minimally invasive and does not involve drilling or removal of healthy tooth structure. The materials used are biocompatible and have been widely used in dentistry.
Typically, ICON resin infiltration requires only one visit to the dentist, after consultation. The entire procedure can be completed in about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of white spots and their severity.
How does it work?

How Effective Is It?

Is It Reversible?

Can I Whiten My Teeth After Resin Infiltration?
Typically any dramatic shade change is performed with whitening treatment before ICON. But yes, you can whiten your teeth after undergoing ICON resin infiltration to maintain your shade. However, it’s advisable to wait for a certain period after the procedure before starting any whitening treatments.
